

Florence L. Becker-Brown, 72, a S. Nevada resident for over 30 years, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 7, 1938. She is survived by her daughter, Nikki; her son-in-law, Michael; and her grandson, Jonah, all of Las Vegas; as well as her brother, Herbert Caplin of Philadelphia, and numerous friends and loved ones. Florence was adored by many and was completely devoted to her family and friends. She was a wonderful mom and a doting Bubbe to her grandson, Jonah. She was dedicated to helping people as an R.N. for over 50 years and deeply cared for each of her patients. She was very active in her community and was very proud of her Jewish culture. She also loved travel, the theater, gardening, staying physically active, and taking care of her beloved pets. She will be loved and sadly missed for the rest of our lives. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held at Palm Mortuary located at 6701 N. Jones Blvd. on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with a Memorial Gathering to follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Nathan Adelson Hospice or Safe Nest. Ways to continue to honor her in the future could include donating craft supplies to the Boys and Girls Club of S. Nevada, planting a garden or a tree, adopting a shelter animal, or introducing a child to the theater and/or supporting the performing arts in this community.
