

Frank Polandaya Smith was an expressive, optimistic, and fun individual. To everyone around him, he seemed to be eternally happy, and he willingly shared that joy with anyone whose life he touched. For Frank, bringing out the best in any situation was as easy as offering a smile, a witty remark or the twinkle of an eye. And with just those simple gestures, he could evoke the most pleasant of emotions. Frank really mastered the art of living and had great fun in doing so.
Frank was born on April 2, 1970 in Makati, Philippines. His parents were Yolanda Smith and Step father Wayne Smith. Frank was raised in El Segundo, Santa Maria and Hawthorne, California. Even as a child, Frank had the ability to lift the spirits of all those around him. He was raised to be warm, caring and friendly. He couldn’t help but capture everyone’s attention. He was always there for everyone, no matter what the circumstance.
Always a good friend, Frank was easy going and fun loving. He managed to lighten the mood wherever he was. Frank was very intelligent and humble, he always reacted correctly. He always
took the high road. He took care of is Grand parents and adored and loved them. He took care of his brothers and sister like any elder brother would have. He had three brothers, David Wayne, Steven Michael, Robert Smith, and sister Michelle Joy Smith.
Frank graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1989. He loved martial arts wanting to be like Bruce Lee, even made the same sounds. He loved BMX riding and skate boarding. He did body boarding like a professional.. Frank simply enjoyed others’ laughter and the sounds of his friends and acquaintances having a good time.
Frank was drawn to individuals and crowds, using his gregarious, adaptable and outgoing personality to captivate his audience. This quality allowed Frank to continually develop new relationships, ever widening his circle of friends. While growing up, some of his best friends were Anthony and George San Mateo. Later in life, he became friends with Damien, William, Roger, and Alan. Frank loved sharing life and having his home filled with people he knew.
Frank enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. He also was a great break dancer POP LOCKER, his young brothers David and Steven followed everything he did and wanted to do everything like him. He was his brothers mentor growing up and taught them all the boys stuff. He loved being a jokester and never wanted to grow old. He always showed his inner kid spirit.
Vested with a deep concern for spiritual development, Frank recognized that his faith was important to him throughout his life. He was a member of the Catholic Church at St. Josephs Hawthorne.
It is no surprise that he loved to travel and to visit new and different places. Frank was naturally curious about other parts of the world and loved the real life adventure that came from visiting them. A gourmet chef, he loved creating great meals at home.
Frank passed away on May 15, 2018 at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frank passed away from a sudden heart episode. He is survived by his mother, Yolanda, his step father Wayne, his brothers, David, Steven, Robert, and sister Joy. His life will continue to be cherished by extended family and many close friends. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frank was laid to rest in Palm Northwest Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
We now very excited for his transition and sad but we know he is reborn and now in heaven with our Nanay and Tatay and family looking over us. Frank Smith your legacy will always live within our hearts and spirits. He will be remembered with a smile.
