Gerald Vernon Treichel aka Jerry was born February 24, 1942 to Alfred Treichel and Evelyn Vernon in St. Paul, Minnesota. Jerry was a generous and fun loving soul who will be missed by many. He passed on September 9, 2018 in Las Vegas, where he lived throughout the course of his adult life, having raised his family there. Jerry was a well established electrical contractor, but above all, a loving father, grandfather and friend. He had a sharp wit and wry sense of humor that remained with him the entirety of his life. Although for much of his adult life, he dealt with chronic emphysema brought on by Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Syndrome, he inspired all who knew him by continuing to travel and explore. An adventurous and fun loving spirit, he traveled the world right up into his later years, and remained a curious student of places and cultures. Even after his ability to walk distances declined, he continued his travels with his mobility scooter and ever present good humor. He is survived by his brother Don, sister Judy, son and daughters Pat, Jean and Janice, grandchildren Tarin, Alex, and Jeromey, and by countless friends who will miss him but remember him with joy and fondness. A remembrance of life will be held Saturday September 22, 2018 from 4pm – 7pm at the place he enjoyed gathering with his friends, the Hideaway at 3369 Thom Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89130.
