

Hazel Dolores Meckley was called to her eternal home on Monday, December 26, 2016. Born in Altoona, PA on April 11, 1938, she lived her last 24 years as a resident of Las Vegas, NV. Daughter of the Reverend Ralph Meckley and Dolores (Zerbe) Meckley, Hazel retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. She was a church organist for more than 20 years at several churches in PA. Hazel’s quick wit and caring ways will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Preston Meckley, her sister Martha Lacko, and her nephew Ralph Lacko. Hazel is survived by her brother David Meckley, his wife Phyllis, and niece Mary Meckley, all of Las Vegas; nieces Michelle (Lacko) Cushman and Martha (Lacko) Miller of Johnstown, PA; nieces Sandy (Meckley) Jenkins and Kelly (Meckley) Breon of PA, and nephew Rodney Meckley of Kansas. Hazel was a member of Eastern Star for more than 50 years and was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. In Las Vegas she was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 11:00 am with the Reverend Phil Shuart officiating.
