Helen May Earnist, nee (Vykruta), age 84, of Las Vegas, a beloved wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on September 17, 2015. She was born November 1, 1930 in Berwyn, Illinois and had been a resident of Nevada since 1967. Helen retired from Mervyn’s Department Store in 1999 after 20 years of service as a sales associate. Besides loving and caring for her family, she loved creating art and crafts. She and her daughter, Kathy, would show and sell their work at the annual Craft Fairs in Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Roland Earnist; and sister, Lucy Mueller. Helen is survived by her four children, Thomas J. Earnist, Kathleen S. Rangel, Debra A. Earnist, and James S. Earnist; four grandchildren, Nicolette and Ryan Rangel, Katherine and Robert A. Candelaria; and sister, Joan Pavlicek. Services will be private.
