August 6, 1944 – July 14, 2025
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Hiram Naumu Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and Veteran on July 14, 2025. Hiram was born and raised in Hawaii, where he met the love of his life and wife of 53 years, Dinah Naumu. Together, they raised their four sons before moving to Las Vegas nearly 30 years ago. Here, they welcomed grandchildren and great-grandchildren and created lasting memories.
In his younger years, Hiram was an avid surfer who spent countless hours riding the waves in Hawaiʻi. The ocean brought him peace and remained one of his fondest memories. Later in life, Hiram found a new passion, the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team. He rarely missed a game and especially enjoyed cheering on his team with family by his side. Hiram had a gift for making people laugh with quiet, unexpected humor. He’d slip in a perfectly timed joke when no one saw it coming, always trying to top his last with a clever twist or quick comeback.
As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hiram lived his beliefs through quiet service, steady love, and a deep commitment to doing what was right.
Hiram honorably served his country from 1966-1990, first in the United States Army, including combat in the Vietnam War, then he continued his military career in the Air Force National Guard. His decades of service reflected a deep sense of duty and patriotism.
Hiram was preceded in death by his beloved wife and eternal companion of 53 years, Dinah Naumu; his parents, Maile and Hiram Naumu Sr.; and his sisters, Jamie Lum and Tanya Keala. Their reunion brings comfort to all who loved him. He is survived by his sons: Gary (Sharla), Danny (Ulu), Hiram III (Jennifer), and Paul (Jessica), along with 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who were his greatest joy and pride.
Hiram lived a life rooted in faith, quiet strength, and deep love for his family.
