Hey POPS, I hope you're fine now and you're resting I know you were tired for a long time and we couldn't figure it out. Between the both of us we always figured most things out. It wasn't meant to be for some reason I'll find out some day when are together again. Dad, I sure miss you each and every day I didn't believe this was going to happen so soon. You always said that you come from a long life family and I always believed that too. Life is lonely now that you are not by my side. Not working together we sure were a good team together for so many years we sure had a lot of good times. I'll never have a friend like you again Dad; I'm so blessed to have had you as my dad. You always looked over me and protected me from when I was a little boy until now and I know you're still protecting me. Das my heart is so broken I asked you one time what am I going to do if something happens to you? You looked at me and said move on, well I'm having a hard time doing that I feel all alone. Dad thanks for teaching me everything in your junk yard. You built a lot from the best you're always going to be TOP DOG and I'll take care of your yard to my best ability. Dad, I feel you took a piece of my heart but you left me a piece of your soul. I hope you like your new angel wings your free now. Mr D, I drove by the Davis Auto yard & seen the old grader sitting still there. It reminded of seeing you building your empire here on earth with Carmen & your family. Today is July 3, 2015.  Five (5) months ago you left us.  

We all LOVE you and you are terribly missed.

During our fifty-seven (57) years of togetherness, we created a wonderful family.  We also had many good friends, long time friends and Business friends.  Plus Great Family Members.  You are missed by all.

I have been told, that as I look at each of our Four (4) Children, Seven (7) Grandchildren and Seven(7) Great- Children, that each one REPRESENTS you. That you are still with me.  How wonderful that you are still very close to me.

Each day there are so many MEMORIES of you.  I cry for you and I miss you.

At times we would say to each other "Don't Worry" or "Don't let it bother you" Those words are so easy to say, but hard to do.

Hope the sun is shining bright up there and you are at peace. We all miss you down here but know you are not suffering anymore. I'm sure you already know but you don't need to worry about me any longer, I had a baby boy, named him Phoenix, and we're both doing great! I see many resemblances of you in him and he is my constant reminder of how stubborn, ornery, happy, fun, and loving you were. I look into Phoenix' eyes and know you're starring right back at me. You will be forever missed but never forgotten. No need to worry, we are taking care of your "all our lives" wife, Carmen, grandma, so rest assured. Love you, miss you, your granddaughter Stefanie.

You will be sorely missed by everyone who was close to you.  Above all you were a good man, and you created a beautiful family.  You lived your life on your terms and had the respect of so many. Papa, Thank you for all the great memories you gave all of us! We love you so much and miss you even more! You were such a great person and would do anything for anyone. I remember when you and Grandma came over to Dougie's house to help us with his brakes, Grandma said you were tired and about to go to sleep but as soon as you knew we needed help you came right over and helped us. because that's who you was our PaPa who helped in anyway you could. I also remember going over to the house on Navajo to come and see you and grandma. I will always remember you letting me cut your hair, I had so much fun we laughed and laughed. Good memories within my heart. Also you always told us you ate your fingers and actually I was little and I believed you until I got older. And yes the fun times riding in the tow truck and the forklift at the junk yard, I will never forget you. Love you Papa!

Papa you were a terrific grandfather. You brought a humor and light-heartedness to our lives that will be truly missed by those who knew you. We will all remember you fondly as the great person that you were. You make us all proud to have been a part of our lives and I'm grateful for that. I miss you and think of you each day and night.

Today, June 17, 2015. Four (4) months and Fourteen (14) days ago, February 3, 2015, you left. Its so, so, hard for me to believe and accept that you are gone. It all seems like a Dream.

I miss you. We were always "TOGETHER". Thought we would age "TOGETHER"  "WE BELONG TOGETHER".

I kept thinking of the last days we spent "TOGETHER". On January 31, 2015, I pushed you in the wheel chair to the Hospice Lobby. You heard a nurse say she brought Brownies, you asked her for Two (2) Brownies. I asked you "why did you ask for Two (2) Brownies" and you said "One for you and One for me". I think of this special moment between us and of all the Last Days we spent "TOGETHER".

I keep looking for you to appear in your Cowboy Hat, Cowboy Boots, your SILLY GRIN and your SPARKLING BLUE EYES and say "LETS GO".

You lived your Life as you wanted. You liked your Cigarettes, Bud Light and Gambling (Video Keno).

You also enjoyed being involved with our sons, son-in-law and grandsons teaching them the business of towing autos, dismantling, etc. They miss you.

We were semi-retired and you were very, very tired. However, you pushed and made yourself "GO". You kept us Busy and on the "GO". Lung Cancer traveled to your Brain and took you away.

GOSH!!!! I LOVE You. I MISS You. Someday I will be joining you.

To my dad, you had all the answers to everything I miss you badly l love you.

Jim was a man who lived his life how he wanted and made adjustments when Carmen made suggestions. I do not know a single person who did not like him who knew him.He always worked hard and when ask would help anyone who ask, many times complete strangers. His heart was big as his personality. I married his daughter and he accepted me into his family as if I were his own son. I think of him often and miss him. He will always be a part of my life in memories and by the things he taught me. I know he is watching over us all now from above. His big heart will be missed by all he touch in his life. I wish he could have stayed around a little longer but he must have been needed elsewhere to lend a hand to someone who needed it, he always was helping someone who needed it. I miss you Jim

   I have been wanting to write you but worried this would be a goodbye but yet I have realized this is more of I will see you soon and we are all lucky to have a guardian angel looking over us such as you. You have shown us all through thick and thin what it's like to be the fun loving father/grandpa/husband/great grandpa we all wish to become. Through your hard work day in and day out, love, devotion and your jokes and smiles. From your cowboy hats, boots, jeans, milk and all you white trucks you've had over the years you've always been yourself and you lived your life how you wanted. You enjoyed yourself through the years doing what you loved the most, providing a foundation for your entire family. Even though you were always stubborn your smile and your sense of humor was something that would make us all laugh and smile throughout the years. 
   I'm happy my kids got to meet you and know you as papa with the cowboy hat with the short fingers lol, they love you too. You were one of a kind and we all love you and will miss you more than you know. I know grandma has always loved Elvis and he was a King and a legend and so forth but she maybe never realized she was married to a living legend. You will never be forgotten from your large and strong family you have raised throughout the years. From all the neighbors' family friends and just anyone that ever met you, you will never be forgotten.  
Thank you for everything you have ever done for me and still do to this day even though you are no longer with us. I will never forget the time you told me in your back yard on Navajo, Dougie, you know I can buy me a lmbordini if I wanted to but instead I bought me that tow truck over there, I said a Lamborghini and you said ya a lamordini. You said do you want to know why I bought that tow truck instead. I asked why and you said to make me more money for my family it took me till I had my own kids to realize the true meaning of what you meant and the little lessons over the years you taught me and I thank you for showing me the right and wrong ways of doing things. 
I'm truly happy I was able to help you a few months ago with your TV in the garage after you had asked me a few months prior. you were always so willing to help everyone whenever they needed a helping hand and you have truly shown me that helping someone else is what we Davis' do and it was always great when we were able to help you. You always loved to work and were truly a hands on type of guy and shown your family it's ok to get down and dirty and hands on. We all loved you so much and you have made a raised a great family that I'm truly honored to be a part of. 
Well Papa, you will never be forgotten and we will all try to look after grandma as much as we can. However, no one can quite do that as great as you did over the years and you both were truly a match made in heaven. Don't get into too much trouble up there and we will all be thinking of you often and forever. Papa this is not a goodbye, it's until next time I see you so be good up there and I will be thinking of you and love you so much and miss you!

On February 3, 2015 you left without me.
You had Lung Cancer, which we were not
aware of. It spread to your Brain and created many Brain Lesions.  You had many Doctor visits and Blood Work, etc. done.  Never showing you had Lung Cancer.  Your only complain was that you were very, very tired.

THOROUGH THE YEARS we had an ENDLESS LOVE.

You left behind many Lifetime Treasure Memories.  Many times I cry for you.

I will always remember your sayings and treasure your sayings such as "You Go Where I Go" Don't Worry How You Look, You Are With Me."  There are so many more Special Memories that you left behind that we shared together and that I will always Treasure until I join you.

We had our Good Times and our Bad times together.

There was a MAGIC LOVE between us that words, hugs, kisses, etc. were not needed.  Just being TOGETHER was our MAGIC LOVE.

I TRULY loved you and you will FOREVER be my only LOVE.  I miss you terribly.  We will be together someday.

I miss you.  Never thought you would leave me so soon. You had many Doctor
visits and complained always of being very tired. All your Labs, chest x-ray, etc. were normal. Never showed  Lung Cancer Signs.

Our Family life is not the same since you left us. You are missed terribly.

My life has changed, miss your humor,
ornery behavior, you walking around with your Cowboy Boots and Cowboy Hat.
You were one of a kind Cowboy.  Most of
all your "BRIGHT BLUE EYES". How they  would sparkle.

Miss the Love you gave me in your own way.  At our young age, 17 years and 16 years, we married and commenced to create a great family. We had lots of family gatherings.  We always said "Family First"

When we were asked how long we had been married, you would answer proudly
"ALL OUR LIVES".

You were also so proud to say that "I at 21 years was the mother of four (4) children"

We also created a business as a team. You were a hard worker and I handle the paperwork. Our determination to be successful as a team was what accomplish it all.

We were very young when we married, October 18, 1958, for Fifty-Six (56) years. We had many, many ups and downs. But we stuck it out together. How I miss our good times and our bad
times. That's what marriage and family is all about.

I loved you and you will forever be my only "LOVE.  I miss you terribly.  We will be together someday.

I'm so thankful we have a God who is loving and merciful enough to give us a second chance.  John 5:28, 29 tells us that he has given his son Jesus the power to resurrect those sleeping in death.  And Psalms 37:29 tells us the righteous will possess the earth and will live on it forever.  
I look forward to that day when we can all have a great big happy family reunion.  I love you all..... Aunt Beverly

I will always remember when we first met. You could never remember my name. Then one day I asked you if you'd ever heard of an Emery board, and the name stuck with you ever since. Ha! I learned a lot about you after you passed. I find it interesting how similar James Davis, III is to you.

Dad,
I like to believe that when we lose someone close to us they still live through us and give us strength. The time we have spent with those we've lost makes them part of us.

Although you are not with us physically, you will always be with us spiritually. Each and every day, I am reminded of you by something you either said, a song, a work truck/tractor that I see on the side of the road, or even somebody wearing a cowboy hat and boots!  Whatever may trigger my memory of you, you will always be with me.  I'm sad for us who are left behind without you, but happy you are reunited with your family and friends we have lost.    Thank you for all you have done here, and for being my dad.  You will be missed.
