

Jeremy (Jay) Alan Heinz, 37 years of age, born in Las Vegas on March 22, 1978 and passed away on February 1, 2016 with his family and friends by his side. Jeremy spent all of his life in Las Vegas, except for his 5 years of Navy duty from 2003 -2008. While serving in the US Navy, Jeremy proudly served on the USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN 77) – aircraft carrier as an Interior Communications Electrician. During his time in the US Navy he earned the Navy “E” Ribbon Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Medal, and the designation as the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. Jeremy earned his Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology at ITT Technical Institute and was working on his Bachelor Degree in Project Management at the time of his passing. Jeremy is survived by his parents James and Diana Heinz, Brother - Corey Heinz (wife - Sharla, kids - Nate, Grace, Abby), Sister - Tami Barton Bachman (husband TJ, kids- Blake, Perry), his Grandma Miriam Hoagland, and many cousins, aunts/uncles, friends and shipmates from all over the world. One of his friends and shipmates summed up Jeremy. “Jeremy Heinz you're one of the best persons I've worked with, served with and been friends with. You made all the people around you laugh even when they were at their lowest point, you brightened every dull moment at whatever expense it was to you. You had hidden talents that were always surprising to me. Your time here was short, but you made the best of it and you left an awesome impression on the people who came to know you in this life. You will be forever missed.” The Memorial Service will be held Thursday February 11th at Palm Mortuary – S. Jones. 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146. A viewing from 9-11am followed by the service from 11am-12pm. Jeremy will be laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City on Friday February 12th.
