1st Sgt. Jimmie N. Johnson, US army retired, age 75 of Las Vegas passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Born August 2, 1938 in Missouri, he has been a Las Vegas resident for thirteen years. 1st Sgt. Johnson served his first love,the United States Army, in the Vietnam War and retired in 1983. After his retirement, he worked in the civilian sector at LA Air Force Base, retiring in 2001. A former member of the VFW, he was an avid baseball fan, rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals, bowling and darts and enjoyed listening to country music. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mi Ae; son SSGT. Christopher (Leizel) Johnson, US Air Force; daughters: Sarah Johnson, Lisa Johnson, Lawanda Johnson; granddaughters Kayla and Kaitlyn. He was preceded in death by his sisters Emily and Lawanda.
