Airman First Class Joseph David Blattel entered the Air Force from Las Vegas, Nevada; he was born January 18, 2001. Joseph leaves behind his mother Betty Blattel, father and stepmother Frank and Angie Blattel, sister Haley Blattel. He graduated from Sheppard Air Force Base Technical Training School as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chief. He also completed Cold Training course at Eglin Air Force Base and Hot Training at Luke AFB. He was assigned to Hill AFB in February of this year as his first duty location. Joseph always enjoyed the open road, the outdoors, and playing video games with his friends. He was always known for ensuring everyone had a good laugh or assistance when needed. Joseph enjoyed riding dirt bikes and motorcycles, fishing, hanging out with friends, and working on his truck and bikes. Becoming a high performance mechanic was his ultimate goal. His family and friends were extremely proud of him for joining the Air Force and graduating from Basic Military Education and Technical School.
