Joseph Alexander Moll, 54, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep September 6, 2020. It was a silent disease, hypertension, that caused his heart to stop.
Born February 8, 1966 and raised in the Metro Detroit Area, Joe became quite the traveler in his lifetime. He was one of the few people that combined career with his love of travel and adventure as he logged hundreds of thousands of air miles in his lifetime. Beside Michigan, he also lived in both Minneapolis and Las Vegas.
Northwest, Delta, and Allegiant Airlines welcomed Joe into their arms with his special talent of connecting with people. His illustrious career in the airlines spanned 28+ years going back to 1989. He began as a flight attendant and moved upward to training and senior management.
His talents were wide and accomplished. During a break in his airline career, Joe wanted to try something new. He became a Licensed Journeyman Electrician as part of the IBEW – Local 58 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). Most recently, he was pursuing studies in solar energy to add to his electrical skillset.
Joe was remarkable at combining his love of travel with activity & entertainment. He had an acute awareness of the importance of a life lived with joy and people he cared about. Whether it was attending a sporting event (Oh! how he loved Detroit baseball, hockey, and Minnesota Sports), or concerts, he always had a good story to tell of the excitement and people whom he shared those experiences with. The Rolling Stones were his favorite from the time he was a child. If you knew Joe, you had to become a Stones fan!
People admired Joe for how he was able to build valued relationships with friends and all those he touched. Lending an ear, giving advice, helping others in their time of need was a gift he gave freely. It brought joy to Joe to make others smile. This love of people allowed him to make friends all over the globe.
Joseph was faithful to his catholic roots, attended mass regularly and used prayer in his daily life. His devotion helped him through difficult times, and his belief systems were strong and unparalleled.
While his passing was completely unexpected, he is at peace with God and surrounded by so many of our loved ones in Heaven.
Joseph is survived by his father, Joseph Thomas Moll; his sister, Deanna Marie Moll; and his brother, Erik Matthew Moll.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Kathleen Moll.
