Judith Lynn Katick

Judith Lynn Katick, age 71, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on September 6, 1946 and had been a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada for 29 years. Judy’s early years were spent as a military child, and she traveled extensively as her father’s orders (USMC) deemed necessary. Judy spent her younger years residing in various military cities throughout the United States. She spent her adolescent and young adult years in San Diego, California, attending St. Charles Academy, Collier Jr. High School, Point Loma High School and San Diego State College. Judy married John Katick June 26, 1988, and relocated to Las Vegas in 1988. She was a devoted wife and mother, and one of her greatest joys was being a grandmother. She was particularly delighted with her status of great grandma. She relished the quality time spent with her family and friends. Judy charmed everyone with her loving heart, generous spirit and gracious smile. She enjoyed John’s and her retirement years. From train trips through the Alaskan Frontier and the Northern United States and Canada, Mexican and Alaskan Cruises, distant family gatherings and the local casinos. Judy was an avid reader, loved Hallmark movies, Almond Roca, eggnog at Christmas and football.n addition, she was a San Diego Charger Fan. God has you in His keeping; we have you in our hearts. Judy leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, John Katick; children, Mark and Tracy Metrovich, and Penny Katick Hyde; 5 grandchildren, MaryLynn, Bryanna, Heather, Jeremy, and Brandi; 3 great grandchildren, Parker, Austin, and Tyson; daughter-in-law, Jill Parker; sister, Janet (Bud) McConnaughey; brother, Gary (Patty) Barnes; several nieces and nephews; former spouse, Terry Metrovich and extended family members and special friends. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Monday, November 6th at 1:00pm at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146.
