Leather Watson, Jr., age 81 of Las Vegas, died on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his residence. Born July 20, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, he was a Las Vegas resident for the past twelve years. Mr. Watson retired from the United States Air Force at the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his retirement, he worked for the California Department of Corrections and retired as a warehouse manager after twenty years of service. A natural craftsman, Mr. Watson loved to build. He was preceded in death by his wife Linette Watson. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Oliva; nine children, three step-daughters, one sister, four step-sisters and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation, 4-7pm Thursday, March 27 at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., and from 10-11am Friday, March 28 at Desert Springs United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Dr., Las Vegas, where services will begin at 11am. Interment, Palm Northwest Cemetery. Contributions in Leather's name are suggested to the American Lung Association.
