Colonel Lonnie Kelly Jr. was a hero of mine who always gave it to you straight but with the biggest heart and the most wonderful spirit that anyone could ever hope to have. I am who I am because he showed me what true strength and integrity of character is. He led through service and I hope to honor his example by continuing to live by the lessons he taught me and so many of my fellow Rancho AFJROTC alumni. Thanks for everything, Col. Kelly! Fly high with the angels. 

We’ve all enjoyed the memories you’ve provided over the years, from cruises, to birthdays, holidays, and sometimes a regular day. I’m really sad that they have had to go. But I’m happy you’re home and no longer in pain.  You taught Joseph and I to believe in Jesus and live a  Christian life no matter how hard life may get. You lead tons of people to Christ just by being a good Friend and deacon.
Until we meet again Grandad, we’ll miss you and love you!!

Tom and I are so grateful to God to have known Lonnie, if only for a short time.  We will miss his wisdom and his incredible faith in our Bible study group.  Although we certainly prayed for healing in this life, God has given him the ultimate healing in Heaven where there is no more suffering, pain or tears.  Lonnie was a true example of a life lived out in faith and we will miss him always.  Kelly, we pray that God will comfort you, protect you and fill your broken heart with love.  We love you and we are here for you! 💞

While we've only known Lonnie and Kelly for a short time as members at our church and bible study group, it was obvious that Lonnie was a tremendously devout man who had a great love of the Lord.
He was deeply devoted to God, our country and his love of teaching.
Now he has joined the hosts of angels and is watching over us until we can meet again.  We pray for healing and comfort for Kelly and his family in this difficult time.

My brother!!    You’re going to be missed more than words can say.  This is so surreal.  You will forever be one of my favorite people in the world!   Part of my heart is broken into little pieces!  You will forever be in my heart...in it’s special place and I will think about you forever!   You’ve already let me know that you are ok!  God has you. Gloria and I will forever treasure the time we were able to spend with Lonnie. We Loved His experience and great knowledge of the Bible and our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Life Group Bible Study will not ever be the same. 

My dear brother in Christ, I simply have no words to express my sense of loss with your passing.  My heart is missing a very important part of this life and I am so sorry that Sarah and Lonna have lost you.  Old soldier, you and I shared so much for more than forty years, both good and bad, but we also shared so many great times and hard laughter.  I know God is enjoying your voice as you sing with the Angel Choir and also your love of music.  Wine and music with my friend will never be the same, but I will soldier on until we meet again.  I will do my best to stay in touch with Sister Sarah and baby girl Lonna.  I miss you so much my brother and I will always cherish the times we shared. Love you Grandpa Lonnie! Thanks for always accepting me into your home for good cooked meals! You were always so sweet and kind to me. I was really shocked to hear of your passing and I pray that you have an everlasting soul with the lord and the family. Blessings and always ❤️

Uncle Lonnie, you have always been there! Though we lived far apart, for all my big events, being at my Dads military retirement ceremony, singing at my wedding, being there for my brothers wedding, celebrating my moms surprise birthday in Dallas, being my moms sounding board... you were always there. I knew I had to bring my A-game when dealing with you because you told it like it was and I loved that about you because like I, you spoke truth but we always knew there was a lot of love behind it! I will miss you you terribly! Last time I spoke to you really sticks in my mind because you didn’t want to get off the phone. I gave you advice on how to take Plexus because you weren’t feeling good and our conversation turned to my life and your life. We both were making plans for the next chapters after Covid. I told mom how much that meant to me because you and I hadn’t spoken like that in a long time. I’m sorry I didn’t call you back in a week like I said I would...I knew you didn’t feel well but I didn’t know how bad you truly felt!!! I’m sorry I missed your vow renewals with Auntie! I’m regretting a lot of things right now and I pray you knew how much I loved you!!! I’m so sorry!!! You were one of a kind Uncle Lonnie and though I know you are where I am trying to get to, I’m still terribly sad that I won’t hear you sing anymore on this side of heaven. I’m just thankful I was a part of your life and share your bloodline! I will love you eternally...until we see each other again!!!😘

We will miss you Uncle Lonnie until we meet again. Thank you for the laughs  and memories that we will cherish forever. You will always be one of the coolest men that I have ever known, and I have always been so proud to have you as an Uncle. Heaven needed you sooner than we hoped, but we know you will watch over us and be with us always. Love and praying for you Aunt Sarah and Cousin Lonna, and all of the family as we go through this difficult time. 🙏🏽
