He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Hortt and his granddaughter Laynette Ann Hortt.
Lorin is survived by his wife, Lois; sons Perry and Lawrence Hortt; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm at Palm Downtown Mortuary (1325 N. Main St.) on Friday, August 24, 2012. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:30 am with funeral service following at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2401 E. Tonopah Ave.). Burial will follow at Mesquite City Cemetery in Mesquite, Nevada.
