

Luis Antonio Vargas Rubio passed away on April 7, 2026, at the age of 70, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on September 28, 1955, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to Justa Pastora Rubio and Pedro Antonio Vargas, and was their 4th child.
Luis relocated from Honduras to Las Vegas with his sister Rosa. After arriving, he began working as an autobody repair apprentice under his future father in law, John Carilli. Through dedication and hard work, he eventually became the proud owner of his own shop, Vargas Auto Body and Paint.
Outside of work, Luis embraced life with a full and generous heart. His devotion to soccer ran deep as both a player and a coach, he poured himself into his longtime team, La Barca, with pride and dedication. He delighted in cooking and grilling for those he loved, enjoyed a quiet glass of Johnnie Walker, and felt most at peace near the ocean. Animals and children held a special place in his heart, particularly dogs and hummingbirds. More than anything, his family was his greatest treasure and his truest joy.
Luis is reunited in rest with his parents, Justa Pastora Rubio and Pedro Antonio Vargas; his brothers Pedro Vargas and Reinaldo Vargas; and his son, Luis Antonio Vargas.
He leaves behind his immediate family who will carry his love with them always: his wife, Kimberlee Vargas; his children, Dana Sappington, Roselili Otter (both daughters born to Luis and Dana Vargas), Antonio Vargas (born to Luis and Kimberlee Vargas), and Yadira Lizette Vargas who currently resides in Honduras. His step daughters Ashlee Menocal and Afton Erwin (born to Kimberlee Vargas), his sons-in-law, Jacob Sappington, Scott Otter and Manny Menocal; his precious grandchildren who lit up his world- Ella Rose Sappington, Joah Calvin Sappington, Rose Marie Vargas, Avery Menocal, and Amaya Newman.
He also leaves behind his extended family: German Shepard Chloe Vargas, his sisters, Rosa Vargas Matamoros, Martha Vargas, Bessy Vargas, Carmen Vargas, Leonor Vargas, and Ofelia Vargas; his many beloved nieces and nephews: Yessi Gallegos, Alfredo Ramos, Bessy Giron, Martha Ramos, Marco Matamoros ,Grislet Giron, Emerson Palma, Renee Giron, Gerson Palma, Ana Espinoza, Amilcar Espinoza, Rosslili Villarreal, Flor Giron, Luis Espinoza, Maday Matamoros, Rolando Giron, Dana Danikus, Oscar Duran, Jose Carlo Duran, Pedro Luis Duran, Sadua Palma, Fadua Espinoza, Bertha Vargas, Rey Vargas and Reynieri Vargas; and his former wife, Dana Vargas.
Luis Vargas was, in every sense of the word, a great man — one whose life left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. To know him was to love him and what a beautiful gift it was to have known him.
He will forever be missed, loved, remembered, and treasured through memories, traditions, and family.
A Visitation will take place at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, US, on April 22, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on April 22, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. A Committal Service will follow at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, US, on April 22, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
