Mac Millan Gledhill, 73, a 43-year resident of Las Vegas, and retired mechanic, passed away from complications from surgeries July 10, 2010. He was born Feb. 24, 1937, in Richfield, Utah. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served from January 1956 - December 1959. Most importantly, Mac was a husband, father and grandfather who had an open heart and an open home for every family member and friend who needed a place to stay. He is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Amparo Portillo Gledhill; daughters, Kathleen (Terry) Elder and Mirna (Mark) Orchard; sons, John (Corinna) Gledhill, Gabriel (Laurie) Gledhill and Agosto (Viviana) Gledhill; 19 loving grandchildren; nine sweet great-grandchildren; brother, John (Gloria) Gledhill; sister, LeAnn (Roger) Williams; and many adoring nieces and nephews. Viewing will be 12:30-1:45 p.m. Friday, July 16. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4500 Pennwood Ave. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the LDS Missionary Fund.
