Marek Jan Haczkiewicz

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Marek. He passed away at the age of 50, surrounded by his family. Throughout his long, hard battle with cancer Marek always showed strength and courage to his wife and three children. He leaves behind his wife Ursula, his daughters Monika and Annick, and his son Christian.

Marek was born on December 27, 1971, in Jawor, Poland to father Zbigniew Haczkiewicz and mother Krystyna Haczkiewicz. He grew up in a loving family with two brothers Adam and Wieslaw Haczkiewicz. He was a nationally recognized athlete on the Polish National team for trampoline. In 1993, shortly after college, he joined Cirque du Soleil, where he met his wife Ursula on the European tour of Saltimbanco. They relocated to Las Vegas where they continued to perform in Mystere. There the couple lived and raised their three children.

Marek especially will be remembered as a driven professional with a devoted love for his family, golf, and the outdoors. When he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2017, he remained dedicated to his work and family and continued to perform while fighting his illness. He always stayed brave and courageous throughout his final months. Marek held many titles in his life, from a performer to an incredible athlete, but his favorite role was being a father and husband. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children and family.

Marek will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A memorial for Marek will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129.
