Mary Lucell Johnson was born September 25, 1918 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of the late Lucell and Leroy Harney. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Sr. Mary was married and widowed at a young age. She later remarried the late Charles R. Johnson. Mary confessed her faith as a very young child in Nashville and was a member of Green Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky for over fifty years. For many years while her children were young, she served as a volunteer with the youth young adult choir, and other numerous activities for the youth at her church and within the Louisville community. Mary departed this life peacefully to heaven on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 1:40 a.m. Mary's love for people was magical. She embraced friendships of every age and across generations. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted daughter, Denise McGuinn (Gregory), three sons, Earl Jr, Eric, Jeffry (Cheryl); ten grandchildren, over seven great-grandchildren; over five great-great-grandchildren, four first cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
