Mary Ella Love

Mary Ella Love, ‘Mae Rella’, was born in Humphrey’s County Mississippi on June 26th, 1955, to Charlie Mae Hamlin and Charlie Mattox both preceding her in death. She spent the youth part of her life in Mississippi with her mother and eleven siblings; Avon, who preceded her in death, Leon, Gloria, Dororthy, Windale, Charles, Alice, Shirley Ann, Johnny Mae, Louvenia, John Otha. She was the seventh out of twelve children total. During this time, she met John H. Hardy. They created their first child and beautiful daughter Beverly Denise Wren now Goodlow.

In the early 1970’s, Mary moved to Chicago, Illinois where she spent most of her young adult life. Here, she met and married Reverend Herman Love Senior, who also preceded her in death. She also met two sisters in spirit; Reverend Doctor Connie T. Jackson and Doctor Emily C. Jackson, and one brother in spirit: Veteran Persell Jefferson. The union between Mary and Herman created three handsome sons: Herman Love Jr., Preston Love, and Raphael Love.

In 2001, Mary Ella Love moved to Milwaukee, WI where she met her final husband and life partner Kent Butler. In 2008, Mary and Kent moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to pursue their common dream of music. They began to create and own the entirety of their musical catalog. Together, they did multiple shows in Las Vegas. They spent a total of 19 years together pursuing this passion. Later, Mary began to solidify her faith with The Gathering of Christ following a deeper passion since her youth.

On September 30th, 2023, our mother was called home to her Heavenly Father. She leaves behind her life partner and husband Kent Butler, four children: Mrs. Beverly D. Goodlow (spouse Pervice Goodlow), Herman Love Jr. (spouse Patrice Love), Preston Love, Raphael Love (spouse Renee Love), eight grandchildren: Brian Jr, Ambe, Jamal, Kwame, Demarius, Denise, Alyssa, and Ralph Jr, five great grandchildren: Brian III, Briya, Brisun, Brooklyn, Eli, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
