Mavis Nina Hurd

Mavis Nina Hurd pass away on August 25, 2025 at the age of 81 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her battle with cancer over the years showed her courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Mavis came out a hero and stayed strong til the end. She was born January 15th, 1944 in Veblen, South Dakota.

Mavis was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family, friends, and community. She owned and operated her own drapery business, had a love of volunteering at the hospital and animal shelter, as well as enjoyed gardening and going to garage sales.

She is survived by her children: Lori Lopez, Leonard Kelly, and Lisa Andrews. Her grandchildren: Candice Wiggs, Nick Lopez, Andraya Barnard, Jeremy Kelly, Brady Andrews, Brooke Andrews, and Brilee Andrews. Great grandchildren: Abrianna Hahn, Blaze Kelly, Jaid Kelly, Kaison Wiggs, Karter Wiggs, and Dean Barnard. Niece: Eliza Lehrke and nephews: Arin Lehrke and Mike Miller.

A memorial service will take place at 11am on Saturday, September 13th, 2025 at Lamb of God Lutheran Church. Reception to follow at the church. All are welcome to continue her celebration at our home following the reception.
