Patricia, born on June 19, 1940, to Henry and Mary Sadowski in Manhattan, NY, was the first-born of her siblings and was referred to as ‘Princess Pat’ by her cherished father. Patricia went on to graduate from William Cullen Bryant High School in Astoria, Queens, NY in 1958 as an honor student. After graduating from high school, Patricia went on to pursue a career in dance, working with various troupes in New York and Chicago which allowed her the opportunity to travel the United States and parts of Canada where she performed for and met Queen Elizabeth II.
During part of the 1960s, Patricia lived in Miami, FL and worked at The Rascal House and The Newport Resort Hotel. When she left Florida, Patricia made an epic journey with her dog, driving from Miami to Alaska where she relocated for a while.
In 1976, after moving to Las Vegas to follow a new career path as a nurse, Patricia met Darrell at Desert Springs Hospital and the two were inseparable from that point on. Patricia and Darrell were lovingly married for over 43 years and had one daughter, Kellie Leigh Evans.
Patricia and Darrell relocated to Danville, VA in 1980 to raise their daughter among Darrell’s family. It was during the next 29 years, that Patricia became a teacher’s assistant, working at Grove Park, Sacred Heart School and Epiphany Episcopal Church with a focus on special education.
Patricia had poetry published and wrote a children’s book called “Gone to Tinkertown.” She was lover of film and television and a passionate reader. She was thrilled to cruise throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean and always relished return visits to her beloved New York.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents – Henry and Mary Sadowski, and her sister, Barbara Sullivan. Patricia is survived by her husband Darrell Evans, daughter Kellie Leigh Evans, step-daughter Kristina Mull, grandson Benjamin Mull, brothers Ronald Sadowski and Henry Sadowski, numerous nieces and nephews, and from her previous marriage, sons Peter Joe Misilagi and Paul Misilagi, daughters Victoria Misilagi and Kristina M. Tofili-Arona, and grandchildren P.J. Misilagi, Derek Orman, Dominic Orman and Teuila Orman.
Patricia was a fiercely dedicated wife and mother and a devoted animal lover to the family’s cats and dog. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
