Palm Cheyenne Mortuary

Robert N. "Bob" Peccole passed away on January 21st, 2024. Born to Robert J. and Eco Peccole on September 26th, 1937 in Ely, Nevada.

Bob attended Las Vegas High School from 1951 through 1955 where he played varsity baseball 4 years and varsity basketball his senior year. In 1954 Bob played on the Las Vegas American Legion team that won the Nevada State Championship and he was voted All-State Third Baseman.

Upon graduating Las Vegas High, Bob went on to attend the University of Southern California and graduated in 1960. While at USC Bob played 4 years of baseball and was on the USC team that won the 1958 College National Championship. Bob met his wife, Nancy Bowers while he was at USC and they got married in Las Vegas in 1960. Upon graduating USC, Bob and Nancy moved to San Francisco where Bob attended and graduated from Hastings College of Law in 1963.

Bob and Nancy returned to Las Vegas in 1963 where he was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in November of 1963 and practiced continuously in Clark County, Nevada until his death.

Bob was admitted to practice before the Nevada Supreme Court, the U.S. Federal District Court of the State of Nevada, the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. During his legal career Bob was an associate with George E. Franklin, Jr. and the Honorable Thomas J. O'Donnell. In 1966 he became the first Chief Public Defender in Clark County serving under Richard Bryan, the first Public Defender in the State, and subsequently under James Santini, past U.S. Congressman for the State of

Nevada. In 1979 Bob was appointed to the post of Chief Deputy Attorney General in charge of the Southern Nevada Office by Nevada State Attorney General, Richard Bryan. Bob was also legal advisor to the Nevada Athletic Commission, Nevada Racing Commission and the Nevada State Board of

Architecture. From 1983 to 1985, Bob sat as a Hearing Officer for the State of Nevada Equal Rights Commission and was legal counsel to the State Labor Commission.

In 1985 Bob was appointed by Governor Richard H. Bryan to the Nevada State Gaming Commission. Upon leaving the Gaming Commission, Bob became the General Counsel for the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino. In 1994 he left the Imperial Palace to join his son, Rob (also an attorney) in a law practice entitled Peccole & Peccole Ltd. that remained until his death.

In 1993 Bob argued a case before the U.S. Supreme Court where he was rendered a unanimous decision in his client, Catherina Costa's favor. Bob on many occasions commented that the argument before the U.S. Supreme Court was one of the proudest moments of his life because his son Rob had sat 2nd chair and his wife and 2 daughters were present for the argument. Bob then went into the commercial real estate business, which included 3-Bilbo's Bar & Grills and 2Grumpy's C-Stores.

Bob always loved playing basketball, tennis, baseball and snow skiing. Bob, his wife and children skied and travelled all over the world. Richard and Bonnie Bryan joined Bob and his wife to travel to many adventurous places in the world and he enjoyed having professor Bryan lecture on the history of the different locations.

Bob coached Rob and many of his friends from T ball to American Legion. Afterwards, he coached his grandsons in little league for several years. All of his grandchildren have participated in sports and he very seldom missed a soccer game, tennis match, or track meet that they participated in.

Bob's greatest accomplishment in life was being a father and grandfather. He was a teacher to his children and grandchildren in all aspects of life. Family was always the most important thing to him.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers, Billy and Ricky. Bob is survived by the love of his life, Nancy who he was married to for 64 years, his son Rob and his two wonderful daughters, Kimberly (Pete Pribyl) and Rebecca (Will Shuirman). He is also survived by his marvelous grandchildren Matt, Anthony, Robbie, Maggie and Katie and one great granddaughter, Liana , he'll miss them dearly.
