He was born December 8, 1960 in Tiaong, Quezon, Philippines by Prisco Ilagan and Rufina Ilagan. Rodante was one of eight children. He met his wife, Josefina Ilagan, 1978 and married her 1992. They have two children, Danica Joy and Joseph Daniel.
Rodante graduated from Far Eastern University – Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF), where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Zoology 1982 and then his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1986. As an MD he completed his internship at the Philippine Veterans Memorial Medical Center and continued with Family Practice at FEU-NRMF. He left for the United States 1992 and helped petition his family to come to the United States (US) 1996. Later on he passed his USMLE and FLEX board exams to continue to become an MD in the US. He was accepted into a medical residency program, but declined to be close to his children. He worked at Davita as a dialysis technician and educator for many years where he helped precept many health professionals on dialysis and made so many friends. He even achieved his Certified Critical Hemodialysis Technician certification.
Rodante was known by almost all hospital employees and precepted many throughout the Valley. He was so charismatic and was such an amazing teacher; he made an impression on everyone. He helped so many people throughout his life. He loved to cook and throw parties. He would remember anyone’s birthday and have the perfect gift ready for them. Shopping was his outlet and he had an elaborate closet of clothing. He even enjoyed buying furniture. He loved to travel the world. From Europe, Asia, and South America, he would always take a picture by an iconic monument. He would love to visit his family back home in the Philippines at least once a year if he could. He and his sister, Delia, had so many house projects in the Philippines and Vegas. He was so close to retiring and was looking forward to settling down after years of working so hard for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Josefina Ilagan and two children Danica Joy and Joseph Daniel; all of whom live in Las Vegas, Nevada. He will always be remembered for being tremendously intelligent, for having a good heart, and for being a hard worker that would do anything for his patients, coworkers, and family.
