Ruth Hilliard was a giant in her world of stamps.  She built an empire with her Charleston Stamps Store and she never ceased to amaze me with her knowledge and her love for them. She would light up when we would talk about her world of stamps.  She was a wonderful woman and a great friend.

She was a giant in world of worldwide and USA stamp collecting at Charleston Stamps - gentle, kind, always trying to help - she introduced me to stamp collecting and we purchased items of all kinds at her shop on Charleston Avenue. We had plenty of questions about certain stamps and she had the answers - She was - is - a treasure. Lee Samuels
