Shawn Robert Saenz was a beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, godfather, uncle, and friend. He has moved on to Heaven, leaving a legacy of joy, love, and an unwavering spirit.
Shawn was a light in our world. He was a man who lit up every room he entered and brought a smile to every face he encountered. His presence never went unnoticed, and was felt so deeply by all who knew him.
Shawn lived each day with boundless energy and excitement for life.
Shawn’s love for life was shown through his love for his family and friends:
He cherished his wife, Catherine, whom he lovingly called “My Love.” Their Deep bond was an example of true partnership and devotion.
He was a proud father to his daughter Jezrey, and a doting grandfather to his granddaughter Jezlynn. Both brought him so much joy.
Shawn was a godfather to Craig and Amanda and had a profound impact on their lives, offering guidance and love that they will forever carry with them.
He was also a friend to Arlene. He always offered her lots of love, laughter and companionship.
Shawn was extremely mindful by taking extra good care of his mom and dad, by ensuring they always felt loved, protected and supported. His dad was his hero and his love for him was overwhelming. Over the years Shawn took the responsibility off of his dad’s shoulders by becoming the rock of his family. Everyone always knew they could count on Shawn. We all went to him. He supported us with patience and was always there for whatever we needed.
Love is the essence of who Shawn was. He knew how to really love with no conditions. Shawn was love.
Shawn had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did, from fishing, golfing, to playing pranks, to enjoying family nights, he embraced every moment with an open heart. He has a gift of making every moment special and no event was ever complete without him busting a move. His vibrant personality was carried with him everywhere he went.
Shawn leaves behind his family who loves him deeply and a community of friends who will forever hold on to his infectious laughter and big heart. Shawn touched the lives of so many. Although he is no longer physically here with us, his spirit and joy will forever live in our hearts.
Shawn was a proud alumni of both St. Viator’s Catholic School and Bishop Gorman High School. He also had a successful 19- year career as a Realtor.
Shawn is deeply missed but the memories we’ve made with him will continue to give us the strength to carry on for him.
