Shelley Marie Burns, a loving mother, a fun-loving grandmother, a supportive friend, and humanitarian passed away peacefully on July 31, 2019 at the age of 56. She was born on October 27, 1962 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Kenneth and Marjean Burns. Shelley was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada where she attended Western High School. She was very intelligent. She loved math and learning about the world.
All of her life, Shelley was very colorful and adventurous. She had many hobbies such as making stylish jewelry and collecting rocks like agates, crystals and gemstones. She also enjoyed motorcycles, line dancing, and attending concerts and plays. Shelley had a soft side being an avid reader, a domestic traveler, a lover of art shows, feeding the homeless, working with young children at her mother’s daycare, and making bubbles to amuse her grandchildren. In addition, Shelley really took pleasure in nature by watching birds and looking at beautiful sunsets. Most importantly, she loved being a mom and grandmother and always stated that that was her true purpose in life. Shelley’s warm smile, witty sense of humor, and giving heart will be missed by those who knew her and loved her. Shelley is survived by her daughter Brianna Wiltse; her son-in-law, Joshua Wiltse, her two grandchildren, Emma and Elijah; extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 10:00am at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146.
