

Steven James Ptak, 62, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, March 8th, 2014. He was born January 26, 1952 in Queens, New York and had been a resident of Nevada since 1979. Steve enjoyed a thriving and prosperous career in the Las Vegas auto business for many years.
Steve’s passions in life included the love for his children and grandson, outdoor adventures including surfing, jet skiing and boating.
He was an avid music lover and also had a strong passion for his dogs.
He graduated from Berner High School in 1970 in Massapequa Park, New York and graduated from Maritime College in 1974 at Fort Schuyler, New York. He played college baseball that included travels to Africa during his baseball career.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Charles Ptak of Massapequa Park, New York. Steve is survived by his children, Steven, Vanessa and Justin Ptak; grandson, Maximus Nicholas; siblings, Barbara Krall (Ron), Susan Ptak, all of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dr. Charles Ptak of Brooklyn, New York and a host of nieces and nephews.
His larger than life personality and zest for adventure will be forever missed. In his words, “Hakuna Matata”. He will live forever in our hearts…
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12th, from 3-7pm and a funeral service on Thursday, March 13th at 11am at Palm Mortuary located at 1600 Jones Blvd. Las Vegas, Nevada 89146. Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
