known—departed this earth for his eternal home. God deemed that Teddy’s purpose and work on earth
had been completed so, He called him home. Teddy suffered a massive heart attack while under the
doctor’s care at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 58 years old.
Teddy, the eldest of three children, was born on June 8, 1964 to George Cubbage Jr. and Willa Jean
Cubbage. As a child, Teddy loved sports. He played both Little League Baseball and Football. Teddy’s
love for sports only increased as he grew into manhood. The Raiders, Lakers, and Dodgers were the
only teams as far as Teddy was concerned. Yes, without a shadow of a doubt, he was a die hard
Raiders, Lakers, and Dodgers fan!
The early education Teddy received in the Compton and Rowland Unified School Districts prepared
him for matriculation to Riverside Community College, Moreno Valley Campus, where he received an
Associate of Arts Degree. Teddy made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age.
After he was baptized by his uncle Pastor Richard Bell (True Worshiper of God Missionary Baptist
Church), Teddy became a member of the choir. After Pastor Bell resigned, Teddy remained faithful to
the choir during Pastor Willie L Radcliff’s tenure as pastor.
Upon Pastor Radcliff’s resignation, he served under Pastor Ronderick Henry at New Direction Baptist
Church (formerly True Worshiper of God Missionary Baptist Church), still as a choir member, until he
and his family relocated to North Las Vegas Nevada. On December 17, 1988, Theodore Orlando
Cubbage was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Lisa Marie Bell. God blessed this union
with four beloved children: Coreyante, Destiny, Arin and Bryana.
It was easy for Teddy to find joy in the simple things of life. He loved going out with his wife Lisa and
with his children. During the summer months, it was not unusual to find him having fun with his
grandchildren in the pool. Whenever his grandchildren were around, Teddy made it a priority to spend
time with them. Although, he could be tough at times, there was never any doubt as to how much
Teddy loved his family. He was also a great provider. Cooking and entertaining family and friends also
gave Teddy great joy. Sometimes, he would cook enough food to feed a small army, because Teddy wanted to make certain that everyone could go back for seconds or even thirds.
Fishing, going for car rides, and, of course, watching sports were other pastimes Teddy enjoyed. Gospel
and Jazz were his two favorite genres of music. Teddy’s outgoing personality was contagious to
everyone he met.
Teddy was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents; George Cubbage Sr and Jessie Cubbage;
maternal grandparents, Willie James Harris and Eddye Beatrice Divens; God grand-parents,
Nathaniel and Charliene Pennington; aunts, Dolores White, Eddie Phillips, Esta Duffy, and Dorothy
Clark. Left to cherish Teddy’s memory are his beloved wife of 34 years, Lisa; his four children, Coreyante, Destiny, Arin, and Bryana; three grandchildren; Harleyroze Cubbage, Karsyn Cubbage and Kyrie Cubbage; his parents, George Cubbage Jr (Raedale) and Willa Cubbage; his brother, Marc Cubbage; his sister, Lori Cook (Rictor); his father and mother in law; Theodore and DeLois Bell; three sisters in law; Tamara Spears, Theresa Hampton (Herman), and Lealer Monique Henderson (Marlon); two Brothers in law; Alan Bell and Edward Bell (Crystal); and a loving host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, associates, and friends.
