

Tom was born on January 31st, 1955, in Corona, California to Edward and Betty Fergus. He graduated from Norco High School in 1973. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1981, having achieved the rank of Sergeant. Tom began working security at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV and later transitioned to Station Casinos working security, then promoted to Slot Ambassador, from which he retired in 2020.
Tom had a great love for life. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, with his loved ones, participating in activities ranging from gardening, hiking, camping and fishing to riding four-wheelers. He loved going to classic car shows, air shows, and military museums, and was always eager to share his extensive knowledge with others. His infectious optimism brightened the spirits of everyone around him.
Tom will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and loyal friend, as well as a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Betty, and brother Mark.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandy of 22 years, his son TJ (Aimee), daughter Amanda, son Sean Sims (Kelli), Step-daughters, Debbie and Lisa (Peter), grandchildren, Landon, Carter, Jared, Carter, and Aiden. His brothers Mike (Christine), Pat (Kathy), and sister Kathleen. His nieces and nephews Jennifer, Julia, Jessica, Damera, and Sean. Several uncles and too many friends to list.
A celebration of life for Thomas will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129.
