Tony Curtis Vaughan, 45 years old, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on March 19th, 2024, after a tragic motorcycle accident. Tony was born on January 21st, 1979, to Tony Elvis Vaughan and Carolyn Elizabeth Vaughan in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. After Tony graduated Northwest Halifax High School in 1997, he immediately decided to enlist in the United State Air Force to proudly serve his country.
After graduating Military Boot Camp and completing technical school for Fire Services, he continued onto his first duty station at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Tony, a proud father, welcomed his first son, Austin Michael Vaughan into the world on September 10th, 1998. Then his second son, Joshua Cody Vaughan followed into this world shortly afterwards on June 16th, 2000.
Tony found himself stationed at RAF Lakenheath in England in 2001, where he would fall in love with the culture and Manchester United Football Club. Tony spent 9 wonderful years in England coaching his boys in football, winning 1st place trophies for go-kart races, drinking Carlsberg and making life-long friends.
Unfortunately, he would have a permanent change in station in 2009 sending him to Grand Forks, North Dakota. Although, as fate would have it, Tony was deployed to Eskan Village, Saudi Arabia, in 2010 where he would meet his true mate and best friend. In December of 2011, Tony and Brandy Lenore (Carnell) were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2013, Tony decided it was time for a new chapter in his life, earning his Associates in Applied Science, Fire Science, April 2013 and voluntarily separated with 16 years active duty to take a contract in Afghanistan for the next two years.
Tony could be stubborn, but he had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was a patriot to the core and truly believed in service before self. Upon returning state-side, Tony hired on with Plant 42 outside of Edwards Air Force Base, as a Firefighter for the Department of Defense. With a no #%$s attitude and a strong sense of leadership he excelled within a short 3 years and was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief. Tony was a loyal, no-filter and straight forward kind of guy. He was easy to love due to his tremendous humility and resilience.
Tony was a hardcore Vegas Golden Knights fan, found time to run marathons, would call your bluff in poker tournaments and rode out of respect with the Patriot Guard. He found solace in giving back and was driven to always keep moving forward. He will be remembered for the impact he left in the lives of many around the world.
Tony was predeceased by his hard-working father, Tony Elvis Vaughan, his candid mother, Carolyn Elizabeth Vaughan and his eldest son, Austin Micheal Vaughan. He was survived by his loving partner, Brandy Lenore Vaughan, his tenacious daughter, Emma Len Carnell, his beautiful sister, Gladys Teresa Vaughan Harrell, her loving husband, Jack Wilson Harrell Jr., their witty son, Jack Wilson Harrell III, and his youngest son, Joshua Cody Stamm.
Services to celebrate the memory of Tony Curtis Vaughan will be held at 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 2nd beginning at 1000 with the viewing until 1200, followed by the memorial, which will include his eulogy, a closing prayer, military honors and a final farewell.
Heartfelt messages of condolences and fond memories may be left for the Vaughan family at www.palmnortwest.com.
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times, and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun, with all of the happy memories that I leave when my life is done.
