Vern R Waite

Vern R Waite, 92, a native Nevadan died Dec 11, 2016. Born in Bunkerville, NV, graduated from Virgin Valley High School. Vern served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including bishop and a sealer in Seattle and Portland temples. He loved people, sports, farming, fishing, music and playing on the BYU basketball team. Vern graduated from the Univ. of Oregon Dental School at age 22, and had a dental practice in Las Vegas. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy & Lucina Bowman Waite, his wife Gertrude (Trudy) Stricker Waite, brother Jay Waite and sisters Charma Timbush and Hazel Sharp. He is survived by his wife, Alice Thiriot Waite, brothers Floyd, Orley, and Erwin Waite, and his children: Gary Waite, Susan Conrad(Clif), Steven Waite(Sharon), and stepchildren Kerry Ballard(Linda), Blake Ballard(Barbara), Kris Ballard(Tracy), Tara Bolinger(Ray), and Brad Ballard(Julene), 29 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Viewing on Saturday, Dec 17, 9:00-10:45 with services at 11:00, LDS Hillpointe Chapel, 9011 Hillpointe Rd. Interment, Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR on Dec 20, at 10:00.
