She graduated from Excelsior High School in 1969, beginning a life shaped by hard work, family, and devotion to those she loved.
On January 24, 1975, Vickey married the love of her life, Charles Utter. Together, they built a life filled with commitment and care. In 1978, they moved to Sparta, Missouri, where they welcomed their two sons, Bret James Utter and Bart Lawrence Utter. Being a mother was Vickey’s greatest joy. She poured her heart into raising her boys with kindness, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility to others.
In 1992, Vickey and Charles moved their family to Las Vegas, Nevada, where Vickey continued her strong work ethic and dedication to providing for her family. She worked for ten years at Bank of America, followed by ten years at Albertsons. Vickey was known for her loyalty, quiet strength, and the way she treated every coworker and customer with respect.
Even when her health made it difficult to continue working, Vickey remained a devoted wife and mother and grandmother to Nathan, Michael, Chloe and Kyra. She was proud of the men her sons became, and she cared most that they treated others well and passed those values on to their own children. Her love was steady and unconditional.
Vickey will be remembered for her kindness, her laugh, her perseverance, and her unwavering love for her family. She was a great mother, a great wife, and someone who led by example—reminding those around her that what truly matters is how we treat one another.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
