Victor was a man that never let a moment slip by. His love for life and desire to always improve every part of him was remarkable. Vic met the love of his life Charlene and was married on his seventeenth birthday, August 25, 1963. They would share a love that was unlike any other. The love, respect, and admiration he had for his “bride,” as he liked to call her, was envied by all. With their first son on the way, Scott DeBrouwer, Vic’s desire to succeed at age 18 was unstoppable. He started DeBrouwer Brothers Roofing in 1964 with only $500.00 and this determination and vision would transpire into three locations. This successful company is still in operation today and being operated by their second son Blaine DeBrouwer.
Victor was always a fisherman, taking the boat out to catch sharks with his two boys would spark a future hobby of deep sea fishing where he would often be at sea for weeks at a time.
Victor fell in love with pigeons at the age of eight and never looked back. His partnerships with Bill Ensign, Cecil Romero, and Bob DiClementi would be like no other. His success in pigeons will be noted for years to come.
There will never be anyone like Victor in this world. A day will never pass where we will not think about his bright smile, joyous laugh, and love for life and his family.
