William P. Harrington

With tremendous sadness, the family of William P. Harrington, age 66 of Las Vegas, Nevada announce his passing on February 9th, 2025. Born on November 5, 1958 in New York to Anne and Vincent Harrington. Bill grew up in Flushing, Queens and attended Holy Cross High School and SUNY Plattsburg. Bill also spent many summers as a young child at the family’s summer home in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, where he learned to swim and fish.

Bill moved to Las Vegas in 1981 and embarked on a long and distinguished career in the gaming industry, spanning over 43 years. His most notable, and recent position, as VP of Player Development and Casino Marketing at Caesars Entertainment. Bill was extremely dedicated to his work and took tremendous pride in his career. He will undoubtedly be remembered as someone with the utmost dedication to his work and his customers.

As important as his career was, nothing was more important to Bill than his family. He loved being a “girl dad” and always focused on teaching his daughters about the things in life, little and big, that he felt were important for him to pass along. Some of his greatest enjoyment came when working on different projects with his daughters, especially all things car related. Bill was a loving and supportive husband who was always there with encouragement and understanding.

Bill’s many interests included visiting NY, swimming, fishing, and hockey. He kept his interest in playing the tuba, which began during his high school days in NY and continued in Las Vegas, where he occasionally performed at UNLV. He recently developed a love for deep sea fishing and enjoyed his trips to Alaska and the calmness and tranquility the wilderness provided. Bill lived a simple and honorable life, always dedicated to the things that he held in high importance; his family, his friends and his career. Bill’s memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Harrington, daughters Lauren Harrington (Josh Chong) and Megan LaPolla (Ryan LaPolla), their mother, Marie Harrington, his sister Cathy Politi (Casey Politi), nieces Kristen and Katelyn, his nephew James, as well as many dear family members and close friends.

Visitation will be held at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV on Wednesday, February 26th from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 27th at 11:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas, NV.
