Zivka Herzfeld

Zivka (Zee) Herzfeld, age 85, passed peacefully on February 12, 2022, and joined our Savior after a long courageous battle with cancer. Even though she was taken to her heavenly home, away from this world, the love and kindness she gave to her family and friends will stay in our hearts forever.

Zee was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1937. At age 19, she crossed the Atlantic alone on the Queen Elizabeth, settling in Cleveland, OH. She quickly learned English (as well as several other languages), married, and raised two daughters. She worked hard at multiple jobs, eventually working in retail at Dillard's for 32 years. In 1996, Zee moved to Las Vegas to be closer to her family and three grandchildren, becoming an intimate part of their lives. At age 80, for the first time since leaving her home country, she returned to Belgrade with her family, showing them the beautiful place where she was raised and the various customs she remembered and held dearly.

Zee is survived by her beloved daughters Nada McKenna (Michael) and Carmen Herzfeld (Anthony Benedetti), her brother Aleksandar Savic (Ljubica), her three grandchildren Connor McKenna, Morgan Huntsman (Jon), and Brooke McKenna, as well as two great-grandsons, Jack and Beau, and many nieces and nephews. She was much loved by her family and friends, and will be forever missed.

Visitation/viewing held on Sunday, February 27, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada.
