

Albert M. Gust, 95, of Senoia, Georgia, died peacefully at home on the morning of August 21, surrounded by his family. Born December 9, 1924, in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of Hazel Irene and George Arthur Gust.
A World War II and Korean War veteran, he served three tours of duty in the U. S. Navy, from 1943 until 1952, including serving as Radioman Second Class in the Pacific theater. During his service, he translated and relayed Morse code coming from behind enemy lines. He celebrated the end of the war in Subic Bay Naval Station in the Philippines.
Al began working at the G. W. Berkheimer Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1950. He retired as branch manager in 1991, having made many lifelong friends during his time there.
In his retirement he enjoyed living and traveling in Montana, Texas, and Louisiana.
He is survived by his children, Steven W. Gust (Frances), Gaithersburg MD; Barbara L. Murray, Six Mile, SC; Elizabeth A. Carpenter (Ron), Senoia GA; and Peter M. Gust (Nancy), Fort Wayne, IN; ten grandchildren (Jeremiah, Nathan A., Kacy, Nathan B., Elise, Patrick, Randall, Justin, Benjamin, and Mallory), and seven great-grandchildren (Juniper, Noah, Zeraphin, Parks, Marlee, Finn, and James).
Mr. Gust will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
