Beverly Jean Prater

Beverly Winters Prater, age 83 of Waxahachie, Texas formerly of Monroe, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 4 2021. Beverly Jean was born on July 15, 1937, to Theodore and Irene LaMontagne. She is preceded in death by her parents and Jack Prater, her second husband. She is survived by her brother Norman LaMontagne and his wife, Francine; three sons: Alan, wife Rhonda, Kevin, wife Gloria and Jeff, wife Marrette. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Beverly grew up in Massachusetts, where she met and married Sam Winters and had three sons before moving to Georgia. She retired from Marshall’s where she worked as a Cafeteria/Production Worker. She enjoyed flowers and watching old Western movies. With her diabetes, she made it a point to watch her food intake so she could enjoy chocolate and ice cream daily. Her favorite time of year was Christmas where she loved spoiling her children and grandchildren. She was a dog lover and had dogs most of her life with two of her favorite buddies being Maggie and Riley.

The family will hold a graveside service to celebrate the life of Beverly Prater on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 10:00am at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1832 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30096. She will be laid to her final rest next to her beloved mother, Irene.
