Edward Thomas Jr.

On Monday, October 8, 2018 Edward Thomas Jr. passed away at home at age 69, in Snellville, Georgia. Edward, a graduate of Northwestern High School in Detroit, MI and later joined the United States Army where he served as a medic and earned a medal as a rifle marksman, he also worked at the United States Post Office in Detroit. At a young age he confessed Christ and was baptized at Morning View Baptist Church in Detroit. He enjoyed playing chess, horseshoes and mastered card playing. Edward was the second of eleven children born to Edward and Gladys Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Cheryl Spencer, one son Eddie Jackson of Detroit, Michigan, one daughter Erin Thomas, two step-daughters, Alliston (Wallace) Ashley (Peter) of Detroit, Mi. Three grandsons, Terrin Thomas, Devon Roberts, Gabriel Iwu, Six Sisters Evelyn (Sidney) Kirby of Virginia Beach, VA, Elnora (Leonard) Price, of Lithonia, GA, Sandra (Larry) Thomas of Conyers, GA, Debra Thomas of Lithonia, GA, Jaqueline Colton of Lithonia, GA, Tammie Thomas of Conyers, GA. Three Brothers, Stephen Thomas of Detroit, MI, Christopher Thomas of Conyers, GA, Clarence Guyton of Detroit, MI, also a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Gladys Thomas, one sister Eva Thomas, one brother Eugene Thomas, and one nephew Kevin Thomas.

"Ed" will be truly missed by all that knew him.

Now is the Time

God saw the road was getting rough.

The hills were hard to climb

He gently closed those loving eyes

And whispered, "Peace be thine."

The weary hours , the days of pain,

the sleepless nights are past.

The ever patient worn out Frame

has found sweet rest at last.
