   José would sit at the back of the class observing everybody and everything- fully engaged.  His seat served as a refuge to focus on his work, at which he excelled, and a place from which he would offer insightful comments. 
   He never failed to say hello when he entered my classroom and would always say goodbye when he left.  I saw in José a kind and gentle soul.

Jose was always a friendly and happy face for me when I came into work. He was one of those students who was just generally nice to be around. He was also extremely intelligent and smart, and always did well on every one of his assignments. Most importantly though, he was kind to everyone and has a ton of friends who care about him deeply at Meadowcreek. They will all miss him dearly, as will I. As a teacher, this is the worst news I can get, and I will always respect Jose's memory. With each student who comes into my room, a supportive relationship is developed, including the one I had with Jose. I will never forget the amazing person he was, and the joy that he spread at school.
