

She was born April 24, 1938, in Double Springs Alabama, to parents Travis and Hazel Crittenden.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Double Springs, and she graduated from high school at Gulf Park College for Women. Later, she graduated from the University of Alabama, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. There, she met her husband-to-be, John Timothy Boykin.
After graduation, Julia and John traveled extensively with husband John’s Army career, and they enjoyed many adventures together. She had a successful career as a real estate broker in Fayetteville, North Carolina and Birmingham, Alabama, and loved helping people find homes they would love as much as she loved hers.
In retirement, she and John lived in Destin Florida, where she was active in the Destin Woman’s Club and Destin United Methodist Church.
Husband John predeceased her in 2021, and she is survived by her sons Tim and Scott Boykin.
Julia loved her parents, her husband, her sons, and the many German Shepherds she enjoyed caring for with husband John.
She is greatly loved and missed.
