Reginald Willie Miller Reggie was born on September 4th, 1948, in Harlem New York to parents Leroy and Dora Miller, who both predeceased him. Of the two children he was the older and his sibling is his sister Jacqueline Caldwell. He passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Reginald joined the United States Army as a young man where he served his country as a communications specialist to support military operations with precision and dedication. His service instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, resilience, and commitment—qualities that he carried throughout his life. His tour of duty included a deployment overseas where he served as a Sergeant in the Vietnam War and was later honorably discharged.
He went on to serve in many government institutions, in various capacities and was a very skilled individual. He was a talented stenographer and enjoyed performing this task. Reggie was an avid football fan who never missed A Sunday game. Though being raised in New York Reggie took a liking to his new home team, the Atlanta Falcons.
Above all, Reggie’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving father to his three children, Chantell, Reginald, and Richard. On February 16, 2007, he met the love of his life, Karlene, and from that moment on, they built a beautiful life together. Through their union, Reggie became a devoted father to her children—Gregory, Leon, Sandino, and Jonell—whom he loved as his own. Reggie’s heart was even fuller as a grandfather to 17 grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papa Reggie.” He was their biggest supporter, always bringing joy and laughter into their lives. His special treats and warm presence were something they eagerly looked forward to, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Reggie was a very caring individual who made all visitors to his home feel welcomed. He was loved by all who had the pleasure of interacting with him and will be sadly missed. Reggie touches the lives of many and will forever live on in our hearts. We have truly lost a gem, but we take comfort in the memories made and the assurance that the times we shared will always be.
