Annie R. Blackmon

Mrs. Blackmon was born on June 14, 1926 in Rowland, North Carolina, the daughter of James Gordon Rogers and Beulah Paul Rogers.

Surviving is her daughter, Krista Rose, son-in-law Jeff Rose, and granddaughter Kailey Rose all of Wilmington. Also surviving is her brother Bud Rogers and wife Josey of Rowland, North Carolina.

She was an employee of Southern Bell for 36 Years. She loved her job and made so many special forever friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her most precious moments were spent with her family. She always said she had two children, Krista and Kailey and she embodied this day in and day out.

Every morning she began her day, getting dressed, putting on her makeup, making sure her hair was lovely and never forgetting her ear bobs or lipstick .She got in her car always anxious to go and loved to smell gas burn. She enjoyed breakfast with friends, sitting drinking coffee, talking and laughing. Mom loved so beautifully and naturally because her heart was big. She enjoyed entertaining her friends, playing cards and telling jokes and yes, she wanted you to laugh. Mom was truly one of a kind a very special southern lady with a sweet and loving spirit. Her passing leaves a saddened heart for her family and friends but we rejoice that she is dwelling in the house of our Lord. God blessed her with an incredible long life.Her special light will always shine in our hearts forever. Go love on someone, that’s what Mom would do!

There will be a celebration of life February 7, 2026, at 12 o’clock at Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church, 2317 Hoffmeyer Rd, Florence, SC 29501. All who attend are cordially invited to join for a reception that will immediately follow the celebration of life at Cain's Bar-B- Que, 1502 Pamplico Hwy, Florence, SC 29505.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McLeod Hospice Seacoast , what a blessing Hospice was for our family, I will forever be grateful. Mom loved her sweet church family, donations can be made to Hoffmeyer Baptist Church.
