

Mr. Tighe graduated from Kent School, Kent Connecticut in June of 1953. He attended and graduated Harvard College in June of 1957 (A.B.) where he majored in political science and history. Thereafter, he attended Harvard Law School graduating in June of 1960 (J.D.). He was admitted to practice law in Connecticut in August, 1960 and then admitted also in North Carolina in March of 1992.
From 1955 to 1960, he served in the U.S. Army 505th Com. Recon. Group (Army Security Agency) and was honorably discharged from service in 1960.
Mr. Tighe was admitted to practice before all courts in North Carolina and Connecticut, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of North Carolina, as well as, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. He was also admitted to practice before the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Tighe was known as a great book reader of all genre but particular interest was political history. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed his vegetable garden and fishing.
Mr. Tighe is survived by his wife, Heather, sons, Parker (Selena), NC; Alexander Tighe (Doreen), CT; Jason Tighe (Lee), CT; and daughters, Brittany Tighe (NC) and Leah Tighe (MA); eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A celebration of Life has not be scheduled at this time.
