Christa F. Duncan, age 81, of Longs, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Born on August 24, 1943, in Karlsruhe, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Elsa Bolz.
Christa is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Walter Duncan; her son, Michael G. Duncan; and her daughters, Patricia Lynn Lewis (Michael), Barbara C. Vela (Roland), and Susan Ransom (David Perkins). She is also survived by her loving sisters, Gabriella Leak and Barbara Linder, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will continue to honor her memory. She was preceded in death by her siblings Wolfgang Bolz, Gearhart Bolz, Peter Bolz, Karlhienc Bolz, and Margaret Richter.
A true lover of life, Christa approached each day with a smile and an open heart. Whether it was preparing a comforting meal, lending a helping hand, or offering a kind word, she would do anything for anyone. Her generous spirit was perhaps most evident in her dedicated volunteer work with the local VFW, where she supported veterans and their families with compassion and pride.
To her family, she was simply “Oma” — a role she cherished with deep love and devotion. Her family will always remember her warm hugs, infectious laughter, and her special fondness for ladybugs, which always seemed to find her wherever she went — tiny reminders of joy that made her smile.
Christa’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, in the meals she lovingly prepared, and in the countless acts of kindness she gave without hesitation.
Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River is serving the family.
