Debra was the devoted wife of the late William T. Cronau and a loving mother to her children—her late son, William C. Cronau, and her surviving daughter, Arlene F. Cronau. She was one of five sisters and is survived by her sisters, Nancy and Louise. She was preceded in death by her sisters Edith and Karen, as well as her beloved parents, Clayton and Elfreida. She was a wonderful friend to many, known for her kindness and loyalty.
Throughout her life, Debra worked in many fields, but her greatest professional accomplishment was caring for adults with disabilities—a role that reflected her deep compassion and dedication to helping others. Still, her most treasured title was that of Mother, a role she cherished with unwavering love and pride.
After retiring, Debra moved to South Carolina, where she continued to live her life with joy and curiosity. She found peace and happiness through her passions—gardening, traveling, taking her dogs on adventures, and forming lifelong friendships wherever she went.
Debra will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and love of adventure. Her legacy of love and care will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
In accordance with her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor during the warmer months in Upstate New York. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
