George C. Wood

George C. Wood, age 96, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Born on October 17, 1928 in Cortland, New York, he was the son of the late Floyd and Lois Wood.

He is survived by his children, David Wood (Christy) of Concord, North Carolina, Allyson Auburn (Bruce) of Hemlock, New York; grandchildren, Andersen Wood, Arden Wood, Rachel Hequembourg, Daniel Wood (Lisa), Emily Puccia (Frank), Corey Riley (Felicia), Jake Auburn (Sarah), Ben Auburn (Julie); fifteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth.

George enjoyed playing board games like bridge and dominos. He loved playing golf and traveling. After retirement, he and Ruth took several trips together and were forever creating new memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens, 5000 US-17, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River is serving the family.
