It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Jadaca Ann Iversen at the age of 48. Jadaca passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at her residence in Barefoot Resort, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Jadaca was a true Cajun queen, born in Sulphur. She loved adventure, whether it was playing in the mud or dressing up for glamorous events. In her youth, she was an enthusiastic tennis player and gymnast. She enjoyed traveling with her father learning about classic American cars and playing tennis.
After graduating from high school in 1993, Jadaca pursued a career in Medical Laboratory Technology. But in 1998, she made a decision to serve her country and joined the United States Navy. During her 10-year tenure in the Navy as an Intelligence Specialist, Jadaca served her country honorably by being assigned to several major training commands. She also obtained her Master Training Specialist certification while on active duty and played a key role in implementing the US Navy's Center for Anti-Terrorism and Security Forces Non-Compliant Vessel Board Search and Seizure Program.
Upon leaving the Navy, Jadaca was recruited by L-3 Communications to provide technical support services for the development of the USC deployable specialized forces. Her contributions were instrumental in securing her position at Battelle Research as a Senior technical writer. She was responsible for developing doctrine and establishing the first joint curriculum model management program for Maritime Training integration with the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security in support of the USCG Joint Maritime Training Center.
Jadaca was a proud veteran who dedicated her life to serving her country with dignity and excellence. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and fur babies, playing golf, and having a positive attitude. She was known for her lighthearted nature, which was evident in her prank gift-giving tradition to her stepson every Christmas. Jadaca was passionate about veteran's welfare and worked tirelessly to advance care and support for veterans.
Jadaca leaves behind her loving husband Josh Iversen of North Myrtle Beach, SC, her stepson Caleb Iversen and daughter-in-law Emily Iversen of Wake Forest, NC, her father Kenneth Hebert of Louisiana, her mother Karen Sittig of Tennessee, her brother Beau Smith of St. Augustine, Florida, her sister Jennifer Smith of Daytona Beach, Florida, and her nephews Tanner Sittig and Jude Smith.
A memorial service honoring Jadaca's life will be held on Saturday, November 18th, beginning at 12 pm at Lee Funeral Home in Little River, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the All Secure Foundation in Jadaca's honor. The All Secure Foundation is dedicated to assisting Special Operations Active Duty and Combat Veterans, and their families, in the recovery of Post-Traumatic Stress through education, awareness, resources for healing, marriage retreats, and PTS resiliency training.
