

Jim was born in Philadelphia to William E. & Josephine (née Coakley) on April 23, 1939.
He served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1957-1959 serving on the USS Antietam (Aircraft Carrier). He had a successful career for 55 years as a Steamfitter Journeyman 420 (United Association of Steamfitters, Pipe Fitters, and Sprinkler Fitters, Philadelphia, PA) He received the First Place Award in Steamfitting/Pipefitting at Purdue University in 1968 at the 15th Annual International Apprentice Contest of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada.
He would also earn his real estate license. He had various successful businesses in the restaurant business in Horsham, PA, heating and air conditioning business, and in the hospitality industry in Cape May County, NJ. He enjoyed learning and education, golf, walking, jogging, fishing, music, the beach, and having a good time with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his loving family, wife Ellen of 56 years, son James Jr (wife Nancy) daughter MaryEllen (husband Michael), daughter Charlotte (husband Robert) and daughter Sandra (husband Scott), eleven grandchildren (Amanda, Lauren, Katherine, Krista, Joseph, Robert, Veronica, Madeline, Holly, James, and Caroline) and one great-grandchild, Theodore. Also loved by sister-in-law's Marguerite and Sophia, niece Therese, nephews William and Larry, and many beloved cousins and good friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, William L, and parents William E. and Josephine.
Two funeral services will be held. The first at Lee Funeral Home (Little River, SC) on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11am. The second service will be held on Saturday October 29, 2022, at 10am at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish- Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Savior (Haddon Township, NJ).
Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach.
