Jimmy has left the bounds of this Earth to find a better place. We’re here to remember him and to honor his life.
Jimmy was born with physical challenges. He wasn’t a “gifted” student, and unfortunately, he was diagnosed with epilepsy at an early age of 13. He had debilitating epileptic seizures throughout adulthood up until his final days. Not only did he suffer from adult onset diabetes, he experienced neuropathy and developed Glaucoma resulting in a degradation of eyesight. He struggled at things that other people take for granted. But Jimmy didn’t allow his handicaps to define him.
Jimmy was a master motorcycle mechanic- a craft that he truly enjoyed which placed him in his element. His passion was riding motorcycles. He enjoyed watching funny old movies and playing video games. Behind his mustache, he offered a warm smile, had a positive outlook on life, had a great sense of humor, a friendly attitude and a thankful disposition. He had a very cheerful rapport with his fellow employees and was very respectful with everyone he ever met.
He was happy to get a visit, a hug, or a birthday card and went out of his way to send you one. He could love unconditionally and would show his love without saying much. He took care of our aging mother for several years with patience, perseverance and dedication to her daily needs, loving her while performing difficult chores while the rest of us went on with our own personal lives. His effortless devotion to Mom showed his unending love despite receiving minimal reward in return. He didn’t need any top of the line clothes, cars or a fancy house to live in. He was not one to have the latest hi-tech gadgets, not even a cell phone. He lived a plain and simple life without reaching out for help while living a life of simple joy.
It’s important that we learn from the lessons that Jimmy gave us. He did the best he could with what he was given. Through the adversity and despite being financially compromised, Jimmy endured through the challenges he experienced. He kept on going, long after others would have given up. He reminded us that most of our problems are not so serious, and to be grateful for what you currently have.
Although his leaving causes all of us pain and grief, his passing has erased his hurt and suffering. He is in a much better place right now. Even though Jimmy left us too early, remember his joy, his laughter, and his smile. May he live the rest of time inside the hearts of all of you and may his memory never fade.
Rest in peace Jimmy.
